CARE is Gladstone Park Secondary College’s pastoral care and wellbeing program, running for every student from Year 7 to Year 9. Delivered in one lesson per week, CARE sits alongside students’ core subjects and gives them a dedicated space to focus on wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth throughout their time in the junior and middle school.
The program is built around the Resilience Project framework and works through a broad range of topics as students move through each year level — including emotional literacy, personal and cultural strengths, positive coping, problem solving, stress management, help-seeking, and positive gender relationships. Lessons are discussion-based and skills-focused, helping students build the confidence, communication, and self-awareness they’ll rely on both in and out of the classroom.
